Jelai Gajero showcased an impressive performance, particularly in the crucial fourth set, where she delivered well-timed backrow kills to secure the win for the Lady Warriors.
This triumph enabled UE to tie with FEU at the top with both teams holding a 2-0 record.
Coach Obet Vital, who took charge of the game in place of head coach Jerry Yee, commented on the team's successful strategies so far. He praised the efforts of their setter and captain, Kizzie Madriaga, along with the powerful hitters, notably the returning player Riza Nogales, who excelled in both blocking and attacking.
"The setter, our captain, Kizzie Madriaga has been doing well, and our big hitters starting with returning player Riza Nogales, who has been doing well in blocking and attacks, and today it's Jelai," said Vital. "I'm still waiting for that moment when we are all at the same page on the court."
Building on her impressive performance in the first game, Nogales continued her heroics with an outstanding 14-point contribution, 12 of which were earned through successful attacks.
Meanwhile, middle blocker Keshia Famulgan demonstrated her prowess at the net by contributing 11 points, including two blocks.
Throughout the match, the Lady Cardinals fought fiercely, remaining competitive with their opponents. Raisa Ricablanca's efforts led the charge with a total of 19 points.
However, Nicole Ong's impact was limited to nine points, as she faced strong defense from Famulgan and the rest of the Lady Warriors' team.
