University of Perpetual Help System DALTA revived its semifinals hopes with a resounding victory over National University in four sets during the 2023 V-League Collegiate Challenge preliminary round on Sunday at the Paco Arena in Manila.

The Altas overcame a setback in the second set to secure their third win of the tournament, with a final score of 25-20, 23-25, 25-17, 25-21. They were led by reigning NCAA MVP Louie Ramirez, who played a crucial role in their victory.

"This team relies on Louie, so when he arrived last Saturday, the confidence and mental toughness of my players increased," said head coach Sammy Acaylar.

Ramirez had an outstanding performance, amassing 30 points in his first game back with the Altas. He recorded 28 kills, including the match point at 24-20, in addition to one block and one service ace. KC Andrade contributed 11 points, with seven coming from successful attacks.

Jade Disquitado led the Bulldogs with 15 points, but Michaelo Buddin was limited to just eight markers as the defending champions slipped to a 3-2 record.
