College of St. Benilde team captain Mycah Go said that reaching the semifinals of the 2022 V-League Women’s Collegiate Challenge is already an achievement for the Lady Blazers.

That, however, does not mean that the defending NCAA champions will let up in their upcoming semifinal match-up against Adamson University.

“Masaya na umabot kami ng Final Four, achievement na rin yun sa amin. Step by step, at least nakuha na rin namin kung ano yung gusto namin,” said Go last Wednesday.

Go only played in the first set of Benilde’s 25-15, 25-20, 25-17 victory over the Lady Stags in the quarterfinals but tallied five points in the contest.

The reigning NCAA MVP said that the league organized by Sports Vision will greatly help the Lady Blazers’ title-retention bid come Season 98. This tournament, said Go, will help them regain their touch after going through a minor slip-up in their conditioning right after they won the previous NCAA title.

“It’s good na may liga po kami before season kasi dito namin makikita yung strengths and kung ano yung lacking sa amin as a team. At least alam alam namin kung anong kailangan namin iimprove and kailangan namin sa team para sa NCAA season,” said Go.

“Mas solid kami ngayon as a team so yun yung fini-figure out namin kasi after nung NCAA medyo okay, nakuha namin yung gusto naman so medyo it’s our fault din na nag-relax kami siguro sa conditioning namin so doon namin na-realize na hindi dapat ganun. At least now napagusapan namin as a team and yun yung wino-work namin as one,” she added.

Go and the Lady Blazers will take on the Lady Falcons on November 20, Sunday.

“Hopefully sa semifinals kung ano yung wino-work namin as a team sana malaro lang namin nang maayos kasi yun lang naman talaga e.”
