Perpetual seeks quarters berth vs San Beda

Unbeaten Perpetual Help braces for a stiff challenge in pursuit of the first quarterfinal berth as it tangles with San Beda in the V-League Men’s Collegiate Challenge at the Paco Arena in Manila on Friday.

The Altas are looking to extend their winning run to four but are expecting a tough outing against the Red Spikers, who are also going flat out to boost their 2-2 record in Pool B for a shot at one of the spots in the next round.

UST, meanwhile, tries to fuel its own quarters drive as it faces Adamson U in the 10 a.m. opener of another busy schedule. The España-based squad totes a 2-1 card while the Falcons are hard-pressed to improve on their 1-2 slate in Pool A play.

St. Benilde, on the other hand, clashes with Arellano U at 3 p.m. in a duel of struggling teams with the former eyeing to even its mark at 2-2 and the latter out to break a three-game slump.

In another key Pool B match, Far Eastern U targets its third win in five games as it mixes it up with San Sebastian at 5 p.m.

A victory by the Tams over the winless Stags will move them to the next round along with the Ateneo Eagles and the Altas.
