National University concluded its 2023 V-League Collegiate Challenge campaign on a high note by swiftly defeating San Beda University, 25-20, 25-19, 25-16, on Sunday at the Paco Arena in Manila.

The outgoing champions finished the preliminary round in fifth place with a 4-3 win-loss record, narrowly missing the semifinals based on match points.

Coach Jessie Lopez, filling in for head coach Dante Alinsunurin, shared, "'Sa 'min lang nila coach Dante, kung ano 'yung resulta namin dito is 'yun naman talaga 'yung gusto namin mangyari, which ma-expose 'yung mga bago.'"

Clarenz Belostrino once again played a crucial role in the Bulldogs' closing run, taking advantage of San Beda's flawed reception with 11 excellent sets that resulted in 33 kills.

Leo Aringo contributed nine of those spikes, accumulating a total of 13 points, while Michaelo Buddin troubled the Red Spikers with five service aces, ending with 11 points.

No Bedan player reached double digits, with Muhammad Tahilluddin scoring seven points and Andrei Bakil adding six.
