Mapua University concluded its 2023 V-League Collegiate Challenge on a high note by defeating San Sebastian College-Recoletos in three sets, with scores of 25-15, 25-22, and 25-22 on Sunday at the Paco Arena in Manila.

The Lady Cardinals relied on a balanced attack to finish the campaign with a 2-5 win-loss record, thanks to the steady playmaking of Trixie Gojol, who recorded 10 excellent sets along with a service ace.

Head coach Aying Esteban commented, "Sabi ko lang sa kanila, sana 'yung last game napanalo nila para matapos namin ng maayos ang liga." She added, "May ini-insert kami na sistema na bago sa kanila. Hindi naman abrupt na makukuha nila. Pero kahit papaano, strong finish naman tayo, maging masaya naman ang ending natin."

Roxie Dela Cruz led the offense for Mapua with 13 points, 10 of which came from successful attacks. All players except one contributed to the score, with Princess Barbiera leading the support cast with nine points.

ZJ Deposoy was the only Lady Stag to reach double digits, scoring nine points, as her squad finished with a 0-7 record.
