University of the East rebounded from an error-marred second set and ultimately defeated San Sebastian College-Recoletos in three sets, 25-14, 25-19, 25-14, to secure its third consecutive victory in the 2023 V-League Collegiate Challenge on Friday at the Paco Arena in Manila.

Jelai Gajero once again led the Lady Warriors' offense with 16 points, 13 from attacks, and three from blocks. Her performance was especially notable in the second-set tussle and the closing run in the third, which allowed head coach Jerry Yee to give playing time to his bench.

"Yung first six, OK naman; bumibilis at nagkaroon ng consistency. But we have to develop 'yung second six, kailangan namin ng depth. Wala kaming depth sa lineup," the seasoned mentor said.," the experienced coach commented.

Casey Dongallo played a solid role on the right side and emerged as the top scorer for the Lady Warriors with 18 points, including 17 attacks and one service ace. Riza Nogales contributed 11 points, five of which came from blocks.

Zenith Deposoy led San Sebastian with eight points, while Kat Santos, a fellow outside hitter, was limited to five points by the strong net defense of UE.
