As a result, in the Lady Altas' return to the V-League, the outside hitter has become one of its pillars on the court, and she believes that such milestones have only helped her progress further.
"Last season's performance really boosted my morale and motivated me to elevate my level of play. Now, I'm starting again, from scratch, and my goal is to become more consistent," she said.
After initially giving way to her fellow outside hitter, Shaila Omipon, at the start of the 2023 season of the league's Collegiate Challenge, Dapol suddenly showcased her form against the University of the East and, more importantly, against Enderun Colleges in a must-win contest.
Dapol delivered most of her 26 points in the endgame of the third and fourth sets, securing a victory for Perpetual, their third win against two defeats.
Nevertheless, she recognized the need to work on her consistency as the upcoming games would be crucial to their semifinals hopes.
"I'm getting into my groove already, but I don't want to settle for where my skills are at right now. I don't consider it a good performance if my team loses in the end. I can only say I had a good performance when the team wins," Dapol admitted.
Dapol and the rest of the Lady Altas understand the importance of the next two games against Mapua University and the College of Saint Benilde. For her, it all begins on the court.
"We will give our best until the very end and strive to secure a victory. We will work harder in our remaining matches."
