The Lady Blazers ensured that they would improve upon their bronze-medal finish from the previous season, thanks to captain Clo Mondoñedo's exceptional all-around performance.
"This time, they seemed more relaxed, probably because they often play against UE," noted CSB head coach Jerry Yee, who also has connections with UE.
"The good thing is that we have an extra day off, which gives us an advantage in the Finals," he added.
Mondoñedo contributed 15 excellent sets that resulted in 49 attack points for the NCAA back-to-back champions, a significant 20-point difference compared to the Lady Warriors. Gayle Pascual was responsible for most of these spikes, tallying 12 of them for a total of 13 points, while Zam Nolasco controlled the net with 12 kills.
Caseiy Dongallo bounced back from her previous performance with 17 markers, leading the Lady Warriors, who lost Tin Ecalla in the third set due to an ankle injury.
